No. 2 Men's Tennis Pick Up Win Against Johnson
ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's tennis team beat the Johnson University Royals 6-1 on Tuesday. It was the team's fifth Appalachian Athletic Conference win of the season.
TWU started the match by winning all three doubles matches. Lucas Grana and Lucas Perez won the No. 1 doubles 6-1 while Agustin Gaia and Mario Monclus won the second doubles match 6-0. Rocco Mariani and Chanon Phunsawat won the No. 3 doubles 6-3.
In the singles, Asier Pascual took the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-2, while Phunsawat won the No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-1. Maceo Simpson won the No. 4 with identical 6-1 scores to go along with a 6-1, 6-0 win by Agustin Gaia in the No. 5 singles and a 6-2, 6-0 win by Perez in the No. 6 singles.
The win moved the team's record to 11-2 overall.
