No. 3 Women's Tennis Advances to Semifinals of NAIA Tournament for Second Consecutive Season
MOBILE, Ala.- The women's tennis team qualified for the semifinals of the 2026 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship on Thursday, marking the third time the program has accomplished the feat and the second consecutive season. The third-seeded Lady Bulldogs got the round with their 4-0 win against No. 11 seed University of Loyola New Orleans. The match was played in a first-to-clinch format.
TWU won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to win the doubles point. Olivia Alcala and Ana Serrano won the first doubles match 6-0 and the duo of Ivet Prat and Ruslana Kovalenko won the No. 2 doubles match 6-2.
Identical scores of 6-2, 6-2 gave Honoka Tsuji and Alcala wins in the No. 4 and No. 2 singles matches, respectively. Laia Berne gave the team the match win with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 3 singles spot.
TWU (20-1) faces No. 2 seed Lindsey Wilson University in the Round of Four at 2:00 p.m. ET on Friday.
