No. 5 Women's Tennis Sweeps Brenau

ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's tennis team had their first home match and Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) match crammed into one on Tuesday. The fifth-ranked Lady Bulldogs beat the Brenau University Golden Tigers 7-0. 

TWU won all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Ana Serrano and Olivia Alcala won the No. 1 doubles 6-4, Ivet Prat and Ruslana Kovalenko won the No. 2 doubles 6-2 and Laia Berne and Honoka Tsuji won the No. 3 doubles 6-2. 

The sweep continued with Kovaleno winning the No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0, Berne winning the No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2, Tsuji winning the No. 3 singles with matching 6-2 scores. The singles wins concluded with Serrano taking the No. 4 singles match 6-4, 6-3, Margarita Tatur winning the No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-1, and Paula Cigarran winning the No. 6 singles 7-5, 6-3. 

TWU (4-1) will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 20 when they travel to face Columbia College in a conference match at 2:00 p.m.
