Historic Season Ends in Semifinals of NAIA Tournament For Women's Tennis

MOBILE, Ala.- A historic season came to an end for the women's tennis team on Friday as the team fell in the semifinals of the 2026 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship to No. 2 seed Lindsey Wilson University 4-1.

Honoka Tsuji and Laia Berne won the No. 3 doubles match, but the team was unable to win any of the other doubles matches, falling behind 1-0 early. 

The battle continued in the singles as all but one match went into three sets. The one singles match that did not go three sets was the No. 2 singles, which was won by Olivia Alcala 7-6 [0], 6-1. The team was not able to turn any of the other singles matches in their favors, falling 4-1.  

The team concludes the season with a 20-2 overall record, setting a new program record for wins in a season. The team also set the program record for highest ranking ever (No. 3) and highest seed in the NAIA Tournament (No. 3).
