No. 5 Women's Tennis Finish Third at ITA Indoor Championships
ROME, Ga.- The women's tennis team finished in third place at the 2026 ITA NAIA Women's Team Indoor Championships on Sunday. The fourth seed in the tournament beat the sixth-seed Southeastern University Lady Fire 4-2.
After seeing the third doubles match go towards Southeastern, the Lady Bulldogs were able to take the first lead after winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches. Olivia Alcala and Ana Serrano won the No. 1 doubles match 6-4, while Ivet Prat and Ruslana Kovalenko took the No. 2 doubles match 6-2.
TWU clinched the match by winning the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles. Alcala won the No. 2 singles with matching 6-2 scores while Laia Berne had a battle in No. 3, winning it 6-4, 0-6, 6-3. Prat also had a battle in No. 4, taking the match 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 [11-9].
The win moves the team's record to 3-1 overall and gives the team the third-place title.
