Alcala Wins AAC Weekly Award

WALESKA, Ga.- The women's tennis team saw a member of the team earn a weekly award on Monday. Olivia Alcala was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week. This was the first edition of the award this season.

In helping the team win two conference matches on the week, the senior took home victories in all the matches she played in. Playing in the No. 1 singles and doubles spot (with partner Ana Serrano) in all her matches, Alcala won her singles match against Montreat College 6-0, 6-1 and the doubles match 6-1. The Barcelona, Spain native took the wins against Milligan University 6-2 (doubles) and 6-2, 6-1 (singles). 

This is the first weekly award for Alcala. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, March 10.
