ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's lacrosse team played their first home game for the first time since February 24 on Friday. The team hosted the No. 7 team in the NAIA, the Missouri Baptist University Lady Spartans.
Tennessee Wesleyan saw the momentum taken away from them early in the game. Missouri Baptist scored the first nine goals of the game to put the team in a hole. Jozlyn Long got the team on the board in the second quarter, and Olivia Downey followed with a goal a few minutes later. Unfortunately, the team could not find their way any closer to the lead, as they scored one more time in the game on a Kate Buchannan goal, making the final score 25-3.
Tennessee Wesleyan (1-8) will be back on the field at the TWU Athletic Complex on Monday. The team will play an early morning game against St. Thomas University at 9:30 a.m.
