Men's Lacrosse Holds Off Columbia (Mo.)

COLUMBIA, Mo.- The men's lacrosse team finished their trip in Missouri with a win on Thursday. TWU beat the Columbia College Cougars 14-10. 

Two goals by Reece Ringer and Madden Leslie helped the team lead 3-1 in the beginning of the first quarter. After a goal by Columbia, Jack Driscoll and Micah Decloedt scored consecutive goals to move the team's lead to three goals. A goal with one second left by Columbia made the score 5-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Kennedy Moore, who collected his 100th point during the game, opened the scoring in the second quarter. Colton Winsick followed with a goal, making the score 7-3. Winsick scored one more time in the quarter, but two goals by Columbia made the score 8-5 at halftime.

The third quarter saw only two goals scored. Both were scored by Tennessee Wesleyan. Nathan White scored the first one for the Bulldogs five minutes into the quarter. Moore scored the second with 27 seconds until the final quarter, moving the team's lead to 10-5. 

The momentum stayed with TWU as the team netted the first three goals of the fourth quarter. Leslie had two of the goals while Ringer scored the third. With the score 13-5 in favor of the Bulldogs and 12:21 remaining, Columbia went on a little run. The opponents scored four straight goals, cutting the lead down to four. Winsick stopped the scoring rally, and Columbia only scored one more time in the Bulldogs' 14-10 win.

Leslie, Winsick,  Ringer each had three goals in the win. 

TWU (4-2) opens conference play on Thursday when they host Montreat College at 3:00 p.m.
