Men's Lacrosse Drops Game at Life
MARIETTA, Ga.- The men's lacrosse team had their first-ever meeting with a team on Wednesday. The team played one of the new programs in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in lacrosse, the Life University Running Eagles.
The game got off to rough start for the Bulldogs. Life scored the first six goals of the game. AJ Carsto ended the drought with a goal. TWU went scoreless to end the quarter though, going into the second quarter trailing 8-1.
After a goal by the opponents, Carson Bowling put the team back on the scoring end, taking Jackson Lollis' pass and slinging it into the net. Lollis scored one more goal for the Bulldogs in the second quarter, but Life went into the halftime break leading 11-3.
In the third quarter, Tennessee Wesleyan was limited to one goal. It came off the stick of Robert Holekamp. Life scored a couple more times in the third quarter, leading 15-4 to begin the fourth quarter.
Forty-two seconds into the fourth quarter, Lollis scored in an attempt to get some momentum for the team. The momentum did not stick as much as the team had hoped, as they only scored two more times before the end of the game. Lollis scored both goals for the team. The final score was 18-7 in favor of the opponents.
Lollis had four goals in the game. Jack Shaw had 11 saves in the net.
The schedule takes the Bulldogs (3-7, 1-4 AAC) on the road for the final time in the regular season as they travel to face No. 1 Reinhardt University on Saturday. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
