No. 4 Baseball Falls in Extra Innings Against Indiana Tech

ATHENS, Tenn.- The baseball team played an extra-innings game on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the result did not go in the fourth-ranked Bulldogs' way as they fell to Indiana Tech 4-3 in ten innings in the first of two games against the foe.

Tennessee Wesleyan fell behind early. Indiana Tech scored two runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs had chances to tie the game as the team recorded 11 hits in the contest. It was not until the team was trailing 3-0 that TWU would get on the board.

The first run of the comeback in regulation started with a Josh Shelly single. Kolton Reynolds followed with a ground-rule double and a ground out on Brayan Espinoza's at-bat gave Shelly the time to score.

TWU tied the game in the ninth inning. With Jonathan Bosque on base after a walk, David Ballenilla blasted a ball over the right-center field wall to tie the game 3-3, sending the game into extra innings. Indiana Tech scored a run the Bulldogs were not able to match in the top of the tenth inning.

Ballenilla led the offense with two RBIs.

Tennessee Wesleyan (19-6) will close out the two-game series against Indiana Tech on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m
