Women's Cross Country Records Top 15 Finish at Royals XC Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- It was race day for the women's cross country team on Friday. The schedule took the team to the state of North Carolina for the Royals XC Challenge. At this meet, teams from the NCAA Divison I, II, III, and NAIA competed. 

Molly Woodby had the fastest time in the meet for the team, crossing the line in 26:40 to be in 20th place. Coming across the finish line in 65th place was Ashlynne Brown with a time of 22:04. Haley Braden ran the 5k course in a time of 23:28 to finish in 95th to give the team three finishers in the top 100 of the 180 field. 

A time of 24:14 plced Ryan Pope in 116th and Ashley Ratliff was 128th with a time of 24:49. Kinsley Hayes crossed the finish line in 136th place with a time of 25:20 while Reagan Goforth finished the race in a time of 27:35 for 161st place.

TWU finished 14 out of 24 in the team standings. The team acquired 383 points to earn their spot.

The team will run one more race before the conference championship meet as the host of the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in Knoxville. The meet is set for Friday, Oct. 20.
