Women's Outdoor Track and Field Excels at AAC Championships
COLUMBIA, S.C.- One of the moments the women's outdoor track and field team had been preparing for arrived. The time came for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which were held from Thursday to Saturday in Columbia, S.C.
The top three finishers in an event not only made the podium while earning a medal for their finish, but the top three finishers would also be named All-Conference in the event. TWU had four podium finishes at the meet.
Paige Manney won the High Jump with a mark of 1.53m. Madison Rooker set a school record in the Heptathlon with 3,747 points while finishing second. Ashlynne Brown had the third fastest time in the 3000m Steeplechase by finishing in 12:50 while the 4x800m Relay team of Molly Woodby, Haley Braden, Reagon Goforth, and Victoria Verran found a spot on the podium by finishing third in the event with a time of 10:33.58. All the above were named All-Conference in their respective events.

- Chaggie Bassar: 200m Dash- 25.98; 10th | 400m Race- 1:01.46, 7th
- Manney: 100m Hurdles- 15.36, 6th | Triple Jump- 10.96m, 5th
- Ann Moses: 100m Hurdles- 16.22, 9th
- Rooker: 400m Hurdles- 1:15.62, 10th
- Kaelyn Pluta: 3000m Steeplechase- 14:01.70; 5th
- 4x100m Relay (Manney, Bassar, Moses, Morgan Stancil): 49.24, 4th
- 4x400m Relay (Verran, Stancil, Rooker, Bassar): 4:19.15, 3rd
- Caley Essie: Heptathlon- 2,340 points, 6th
The team will run in one final meet of the season at the Lee Last Chance Meet on Saturday, May 11.
