Manney Wins NAIA National Award For Second Week in a Row
Kansas City, Mo.- After being named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of Week for the second week in a row, Paige Manney took home another award for the second week in a row. Manney was named the NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. This was announced by the national office on Wednesday. This was the third edition of the weekly award.
Manney took home the award based on her accomplishments at the Lee Invite this past weekend. The jumper won the Triple Jump and the High Jump. Manney also won the 100m Hurdles on the track. In the Triple Jump, Manney extended her No. 1 mark in the event by .40m with a jump of 12.58m to win the event. The junior won the High Jump with a mark of 1.73m. In the 100m Hurdles, the Athens, Tenn., native ran a time of 14.23 to win the event. All three were NAIA "A" Standards and school records. Manney also helped the 4x100m Relay team to a time of 48.05, .05 from an NAIA "B" Standard.
This is the second national weekly award for Manney. The next edition will be announced on Wednesday, April 5.
