Clemens and Schoen Sweep AAC Weekly Awards

WALESKA, Ga.- The women's outdoor track and field team swept the conference weekly awards on Monday. Grace Clemens was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Track Athlete of the Week and Lisa Schoen was named the Field Athlete of the Week. 

Schoen took home the award after recordining two first-place finishes and a second-place finish at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet on Friday. Schoen won the Shot Put (12.16m) and Discus (39.50m) and finished second in the Javelin (32.27m). The marks made Schoen the conference leader in Shot Put and Discus and second place in the Javelin. 

Clemens won all the events she was a part at the meet. The sophomore won the 100m Dash (12.60), the 200m Dash (26.38), was the anchor leg on the winning 4x100m Relay (49.75) and the Long Jump (5.48m). Those times and marks put her third in the 100m Dash, while being first in the 200m Dash and Long Jump.

This is the first weekly award for both Clemens and Schoen. The next edition of the weekly award will be announced on Monday, March 23.
