Women's Outdoor Track and Field Start Season Strong
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.- The women's outdoor track and field team ran their first outdoor meet of the season on Friday. The team ran at the Cumberlands Spring Early Meet. The team saw a number of top five finishers at the meet along with six first-place finishes.
Grace Clemens won three events at the meet. Clemens won the 100m Dash (12.60), the 200m Dash (26.38), and the Long Jump (5.48m).
Lisa Schoen was a multi-event winner too, taking home wins in the Shot Put (12.16m) and Discus (39.50) while finishing second in the Javelin (32.27m).
Joelle Bixby had a top five finish in the 100m Dash, running a time of 13.34 to finish fifth.
Sariyah Cox was fifth in the 200m Dash with a time of 26.54 and finished second in the 400m Race with a time of 1:01.86.
A time of 21:48.40 placed Kaelyn Pluta in second in the 5000m Race while Ann Moses was fourth in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 16.74 seconds.
The 4x100m Relay team won the event with a time of 49.75 seconds. The team consisted of Cox, Bixby, Sheridan Cruz, and Clemens.
A mark of 1.55m gave Payton Mannis second place in the event while Bixby was fifth in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.63m.
