Women's Indoor Track and Field Competes at KMS Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The women's indoor track and field team started off the 2026 portion of their schedule with a strong showing on Sunday. The showing came at the KMS Invitational where the team had a number of top ten finishes. 

Two runners finished in the semifinals of the 60m Dash. Grace Clemens (10th) and Joelle Bixby (11th) both finished with times listed of 8.30 seconds.

Sariyah Cox finished in the top ten of two events. Cox recorded a seventh-place finish (26.84) in the 200m Dash and a third-place finish in the 400m Race (1:02.27). Sheridan Cruz joined Cox in the top five of the 400m Race, finishing with a time of 1:04.78 for fifth place. Cox's performance in the 400m Race places her third all-time in the history of the program in the event. 

Jakara Tobler was ninth in the 600m Race, running the distance in a time of 1:50.09.

A time of 6:16.25 placed Kaelyn Pluta in seventh place in the mile.

TWU had two top ten finishers in the 60m Hurdles. Ann Moses ran a time of 10.20 seconds to finish fourth to go along with a time of 10.43 seconds by Lisa Schoen, who finished seventh.

A mark of 1.45m placed Payton Mannis in fifth in the High Jump. 

In the Long Jump, Clemens finished fourth with a mark of 5.20m while Sheridan Cruz (9.68m, 9th) and Mannis (9.22m, 10th) also recorded top 10 finishes in the Triple Jump. 

Schoen had the highest mark in the Shot Put, throwing the weighted ball 10.90m to win the event.

Victoria Verran- 1:59.11, 14th

Lydia Weaver- 2:33.52, 21st

800m:

Ann Moses- 3:23.29, 15th

Anna-Lise Kirton- 3:43.34, 16th

Mile:
Hayley Braden- 11:52.65, 16th

Long Jump:

Payton Mannis- 4.45m, 14th

Bixby- 4.33m, 15th

Tennessee Wesleyan will return to the track in 2026 at the KMS Invitational on Sunday, January 18.
