Alcala Wins AAC Weekly Award

Waleska, Ga.- The league office announced the winner of the weekly award for women's tennis on Monday. Olivia Alcala was named the Women's Tennis Player of the Week. This was the fourth edition of the weekly award announced by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).  

The freshman helped the Lady Bulldogs win two matches this week while playing in the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles positions. The highlight for Alcala was winning a three-set thriller which lasted for three hours in the No. 1 singles spot against Union College. The Barcelona, Spain native won the No. 1 singles after falling in the first set 4-6, 7-5, 6-4. 

This is the first weekly award for Alcala. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, April 3.
