Women's Soccer Sweeps AAC Weekly Awards
WALESKA, Ga.- The women's soccer team saw a sweep on Monday. The sweep came with the announcement of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer weekly awards. Krista Eik Hardardottir won the Offensive Player of the Week award for the second week in a row while Natascha Frei was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
In two wins last week, Hardardottir was responsible for five goals and two assists for a total of 12 points. The Husavik, Iceland native scored three goals and assisted on two others against Kentucky Christian University. The senior then had two more goals against Bluefield University. This is the second weekly award for Hardardottir.
While anchoring the TWU defense to two shutout wins, Frei also helped the offense with four goals. The sophomore had a hat trick against Kentucky Christian and scored a goal against Bluefield. This is th efirst weekly hono for Frei.
The next edition of the weekly awards will be announced on Monday, Sept. 30.
