ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's soccer team played their first Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game of the season on Saturday. The team played the Montreat College Lady Cavaliers to a 1-1 draw.
Through the first 45 minutes of the game, neither team made a dent on the scoreboard. A seven-minute span in the second half changed the outcome of the game.
Seven minutes in the second half, Montreat broke the goose eggs on the board to take the first lead at the 52nd minute. In the 59th minute, Krista Eik Hardardottir snuck a ball past the opposing goalkeeper to get the final 1-1 score in the game.
The schedule takes the Lady Bulldogs (0-1-1, 0-0-1 AAC) on the road for the first time this season on Wednesday. The team's first road trip comes against Johnson University at 5:00 p.m.
