Bio

Lorna Schoemehl was hired in August of 2024 to be the head coach of the women's lacrosse program. The 2024-25 season will be her first season as head coach.

Schoemehl graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in History after a playing career that saw her start 50 out 53 games. Schoemehl, a defender/midfielder for the Lady Bulldogs, finished with 99 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers during her time on the field. After graduation, Schoemehl went on to obtain a Master's degree in Public History from the University of South Alabama. 

Schoemehl was named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) First Team in 2022 and to the All-AAC Second Team in 2019 and 2021. Schoemhel also earned a spot on the AAC All-Academic Team in 2020, 2021, and 2022. 

Prior to her return to Tennessee Wesleyan, Schoemehl served as the head coach of the Mobile Machine Lacrosse Club in Mobile, Ala.
