WALESKA, Ga.- The women's lacrosse team played their final home game of the season on Saturday. The schedule saw the team host the No. 2 team in the NAIA, the Reinhardt University Lady Eagles, for an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) match.
After Reinhardt scored the first three goals, Olivia Downey put the Lady Bulldogs on the board, scoring on Stephanie Rocha's assist to make the score 3-1. The momentum did not carry though as the opponents scored the next 12 goals in the first and second quarter, putting the team in a 15-1 deficit at the halftime break. The team was not able to find the goals needed to comeback as Kylie Heinrich and Jozlyn Long scored the remaining goals in the game for TWU. The final score read 23-3.
Tennessee Wesleyan (3-10, 1-3 AAC) goes on the road for their final two games. The first road game will be against the No. 1 team in the NAIA, the University of the Cumberlands on Wednesday. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
