Women's Golf Among Top Seven at East Tennessee Collegiate
Johnson City, Tenn.- The women's golf team was back on the tees on Monday and Tuesday. Tennessee Wesleyan played in the East Tennessee Collegiate at the Johnson City Country Club in Johnson City, Tenn. The tournament consisted of 36 holes.
Monday:
After the first round, the Lady Bulldogs had two players in the top 20 of the player leaderboard. Maisie Hassall shot the lowest score of the round for the team, carding a 76 to be tied for 11th place. Morgan Satterfield sat tied in 19th place after shooting a 78. A score of 83 placed Ann Sofie Madsen and Olivia Sargla in a tie for 38th place while Cora Mount's score of 84 placed her in a tie for 43rd place. Playing as an individual, Madison Atchley was tied for 56th place after shooting 88 in the first round.
On the team scoreboard, the team shot a total of 320 in the first round to be in seventh place.
Tuesday:
Satterfield finished the second round with a score of 79 to hold a two-day total of 157 for a 16th-place tie. Hassall's two-round total was 159 after shooting 83 in the second round, placing her in a tie for 21st. A score of 77 in the second round helped Madsen shoot 15 spots up the leaderboard to finish tied for 23rd with a two-round total of 160.
Mount shot a score of 86 in the second round to total 170 and take 40th place in the field. Atchley shot 86 in the second round for a two-day total of 174 and a tie for 49th place. Sargla totaled 176 strokes through the two days after shooting a 93 on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for 51st.
The team maintained the seventh place position they went into the day with after shooting a 325 on the day for a two-round total of 645.
TWU will be back in action on the links at the Faulkner University Match Play on Oct. 10-11. The two-day event is set to be played at Tennessee National in Loudon, Tenn.
