James Campbell is set to begin his third season as an assistant coach for the men’s bowling team in 2025-26.  He is responsible for the men’s Developmental/JV Team.

Campbell has plenty of tournament experience as he has been a part of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) since 1982 and continues to compete at the National and Regional levels.  Among his many accomplishments, Campbell has won a PBA50/60 National Title (2025 USBC Super Senior Classic), won 10 PBA regional titles, a recipient of the PBA South Region Pat Patterson Award, and was a member of the team that won the 2004 USBC Team All Events Championship.  Campbell was also elected to the Gulf Coast USBC Hall of Fame, has multiple USBC and PBA 300 games/800 series, and won two state titles as a four-year member of the Lakewood High School bowling team.

Campbell is a staff member for the brands of Brunswick, Vise Inserts, and IAM Bowling.  He also owned and operated a bowling pro shop from 1983-1987 and has given private instructions while serving as a volunteer coach for a youth program.

In his first season, Campbell led the JV team to their first-ever Mid-South Conference win (Thomas Burris Memorial Tournament).  Campbell also assisted on the varsity team as they won their first conference title in program history.

In his second season as the leader of the men’s developmental/JV team, Campbell saw the team win three tournaments in their division including the Collegiate Shoot-Out Intercollegiate Bowling Tournament, the Mid-South Conference Event, and the Mid-South Conference Lynne Jordan Memorial.   As an assistant with the varsity team, the team has made USBC Sectionals in both seasons.
