11 From Women's Basketball Earn AAC Honors

WALESKA, Ga.- The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the yearly awards for women's basketball on Tuesday. 11 student-athletes earned honors.  

Anna Crowder and Jacelyn Stone were named to the All-AAC Second Team. 

Crowder started in all 27 games in the regular season for the Lady Bulldogs. Crowder averaged 12.6 goals per game, second most on the team, and led the team with 8.0 rebounds per game. Crowder was fifth in the conference in rebounds per game. Crowder shot 40.3% from three-point range, fourth-best in the conference.

Stone, the leading scorer for the team, started all 27 games for the team in the regular season. Stone averaged 15.7 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and a team-high 3.6 assists per game. 

Crowder was also named to the All-Defense Team. The senior was second in the conference with 7.5 defensive rebounds per game. Crowder was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week one time during the season. Crowder had 10 more defensive rebounds in 11 games this season and finished second in the conference with 233 defensive rebounds. Crowder also had 51 steals.

The team's representative on the AAC Champions of Character Team was Crowder. To be named to the Champions of Character Team, a player must exhibit the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership. 

Eight student-athletes were named to the AAC All-Academic Team, the second-most in the conference. Abbey Barr, Alexis Bates, Sierra Bates, Crowder, Ella Crowder, Jordan McCullough, Jaci Powell, and Stone all earned a spot on the AAC All-Academic Team. To be selected to the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or older in academic standing and maintain a 3.25 grade-point average.
