A. Crowder Named WinWon AAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
WALESKA, Ga.- The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced Anna Crowder as the WinWon AAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. The award covers the performances from the week of December 30 to January 4.
Crowder took home the award after bringing down 23 rebounds and having six steals while averaging 21.0 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game, including 11.5 defensive rebounds per game, for two double-doubles last week. In the team's first game where the team went 1-1, the senior finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds, 13 of which were on the defensive glass. Crowder also had two steals in the game. The Decatur, Tenn., native had a second double-double in the team's next game, a 23-point, 11-rebound performance that helped the team defeat Spartanburg Methodist College 66-56. Crowder had 10 defensive rebounds in the game and four steals.
This is the first weekly award of the season for Crowder. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, Jan. 13.
