Phillips Nabs Second Weekly Award
WALESKA, Ga.- For the second time this season, Bailee Phillips was named the Softball Pitcher of the Week by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). The tenth edition of the weekly award was announced on Monday.
In a 5-1 week for the Lady Bulldogs, Phillips started in the circle in five games this week, earning a win in four of them. Phillips pitched 25 innings this past week and only allowed 11 hits, three runs (two earned), and seven walks. The senior struck out 39 batters in the five starts, including 11 in a win against Union Commonwealth University and nine against the University of Pikeville. The Soddy Daisy, Tenn., native had a 0.56 ERA in her time in the circle. Phillips also had nine RBIs at the plate, with three coming in a walk-off home run against Pikeville on Senior Day.
This is the second weekly award of the season for Phillips. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, April 28.
