Strong Wins Second Consecutive Pitcher of the Week Award

Waleska, Ga.- For the fourth time during the 2023 season, Cheyenne Strong has been named the Pitcher of the Week by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). The eighth edition of the award was announced by the league office on Monday.

In two games last week, the Bluffton, S.C., native tossed two complete-game shutouts against Columbia College and Bluefield University. In the two outings, Strong only surrendered six hits and did not all a runner to get on base with a walk. The senior finished the week with 23 strikeouts, including a career-high 17 punch-outs against Bluefield. 

This is the second consecutive weekly award and fourth overall this season for Strong. The next edition of the awards will be announced on Monday, April 17.
