Men's Indoor Track and Field Sets School Record at Life U Meet; Standard Hit at Camel City Sprints

MARIETTA, Ga.- The men's indoor track and field team were in action at the Life U Super Bowl Indoor/Outdoor Polar Meet on Saturday. The team saw 15 athletes finish in the top ten of their events and saw a new school record set. 

The school record occurred in the 600m Race, where three runners finished in the top ten. 

Savir Faneyte recorded a top ten finish in the 200m Dash, running a time of 22.28 for eighth place. Dani Meisen led the way with a time of 1:22.04, setting a new school record in the event, while Stephen Kerley was sixth with a time of 1:23.02, and Noah Addison was eighth with a time of 1:30.68

A time of 36.82 seconds in the 300m Race gave Trevor Moonin second place. 

Aj Hunter was ninth in the 400m Race, running the race in a time 53.21 seconds.

In the 800m Race, Adrian Nelka-Hernandez used a time of 2:09.92 to finish in sixth to go along with a tenth-place finish by Conner Craig (2:11.31)

The Bulldogs saw back-to-back finishes in the 1000m Race and the Mile Race. In the 1000m Race, Stephen Kerley finished third with a time of 2:43.75, and Meisen was fourth with a time of 2:43.77. The Mile Race saw Nelka-Hernandez finish sixth with a time of 4:49.52, while Craig was seventh with a time of 4:52.23.

Matt Murphy had two top ten finishes in the jumps events. Murphy was fourth in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.75m and eighth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 13.49m. Roni Bailey also finished in the top ten of the Triple Jump, hitting a mark of 13.38m for ninth place.

Caldwell Hits Standard:

The day before, Dakota Caldwell competed in the 3000m Race Walk at the Camel City Sprints. Caldwell's time of 14:34.81 hit a NAIA "B" Standard, qualifying him for the NAIA National Championship Meet in the event. 

The team will compete at one more meet before the conference championships when they travel to Kentucky for the Centre Invite on Friday and Saturday.
