Men's Indoor Track and Field Sets School Record at KMS Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The schedule saw the men's indoor track and field program compete in 2026 for the first time on Sunday. The team ran at the KMS Invitational, where they set a new school record and saw multiple top-five finishes.

The Bulldogs saw two runners advance to the semifinals of the 60m Dash. KT Buchanan finished fifth in the semifinals with a time of 6.92 seconds while Savir Faneyte was 12th with a time of 7.07 seconds.

Buchanan had a top-five finish in the 200m Dash, finishing second with a time of 21.85.

In the 800m Race, Stephen Kerley finished second with a time of 1:58.89. 

The school record was set in the 4x200m Relay. The team of Buchanan, Matt Murphy, Faneyte, and Roni Bailey ran a time of 1:30.04 to set the new record.

The 4x400m Relay also had a top-five finish, as Bailey, Buchanan, Faneyte, and Demetrius Bradley Jr. ran the event in a time of 3:45.26 for fifth place. 

Finishing second in the Distance Medley Relay were Kerley, Aj Hunter, Jack Headrick, and Adrian Nelka-Hernandez. The team ran a time of 11:06.48 to earn the second spot.

TWU saw a jumper record second-place finishes in two different jumping events. Murphy hit a mark of 6.55m in the Long Jump and 13.71m in the Triple Jump to finish second in both.

A mark of 12.66m placed Noah Johnson in fifth place in the Shot Put, tying him for second all-time in Shot Put in program history.

60m Hurdles:

Michael Fuchs- 11.09, 16th

4x200m Relay:

John Jenkins, Jeremiah Jones, Hunter, Frierson- 1:35.99, 10th

Shot Put:

Konnor Boyle- 9.45m, 20th

Michiah Wilkins- 9.10m, 21st

Weight Throw

Brayden Cloud- 11.35m, 9th

Johnson- 11.07m, 11th

High Jump:

Moonin- 1.70m, 11th

Triple Jump:

Frierson- 11.48m, 13th

Bradley Jr.- 11.45m, 14th

Hunter- 11.39m, 16th

Long Jump:

Murphy- 6.42m, 6th

The team is currently set to return to the track on Sunday at the Centre
