No. 2 Men's Tennis Finishes as 2026 NAIA National Championship Runner-ups
MOBILE, Ala.- For the second time in program history, the men's tennis team competed for a national championship at the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament. Unfortunately, the second-seeded Bulldogs fell on the wrong side of a battle against No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett College, falling 4-0.
The first two doubles matches to finish were the No. 1 and No. 3 matches. The duo of David Leon and Serafin Zund won the No. 3 doubles match, meaning the No. 2 doubles match would decided the doubles point. Georgia Gwinnett went on to win that match, taking the doubles point.
The fight between the championship opponents continued in the singles matches. Even though they battled, TWU was unable to turn the momentum in their favor though as Georgia Gwinnett won three singles matches to clinch the match.
This is the second runner-up finish for the Bulldogs in program history.
The team finishes the season 22-3 overall, tying the program record for wins in a season.
