Men's Tennis Earns No. 2 Seed for 74th Annual UTR Sports NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- For the tenth time in program history and eighth consecutive season, the men's tennis team is going to the NAIA National Tournament. The men's tennis team earned an automatic bid to the 74th Annual UTR Sports NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament by winning the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament Title. The team learned their seed and path to the red banner as the bracket for the upcoming national tournament was released by the national office. The tournament is set for May 12-16 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala. This is the 22nd consecutive year the event has been held at the Mobile Tennis Center.
The field consists of 24 teams, 12 automatic qualifiers and 12 at-large bids. The at-large bids were determined by the NAIA Tennis National Selection Committee (NSC). The NSC consists of coaches and administrators from around the country. The committee evaluated teams throughout the year on various criteria.
Tennessee Wesleyan was revealed as the No. 2 seed in the 24-team tournament, the third time the team has been the No. 2 seed. As a top-eight seed, the team receives a bye into the second round. The team's first match will be on Wednesday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m., against the winner of No. 15 New College of Florida (9-8 overall, 5-2 in The Sun Conference, at-large bid) and No. 18 Arizona Christian University (14-6 overall, 1-0 in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference).
The team enters the tournament with a 19-2 overall record and has a perfect 7-0 record in the AAC. The Bulldogs were the only team from the AAC to make the tournament. TWU is 5-1 against teams in the field.
