Men's Tennis Falls in NAIA Semifinals
MOBILE, Ala.- The men's tennis team fell in a battle to the No. 3 seed Keiser University on Friday. The team fell by a final score of 4-2 in the semifinals of the 2025 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament.
TWU won the doubles point with wins by Octavio Volpi and Juan Carlos Garcia, and Zoilo Rios and David Leon. The former won the No. 2 doubles point 6-0 while the latter won the No. 3 doubles point 7-6 [3].
Leon picked up a second win in the No. 5 singles match, winning the point 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. The team was not able to turn any of the remaining singles points in their favor to fall by the final score of 4-2.
The team finishes the season with a 16-3 record. The team won both the Appalachian Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Titles for the fifth straight season.
