No. 2 Seed Men's Tennis Advances to NAIA Tournament Semifinals

MOBILE, Ala.- The second-seeded men's tennis team played their quarterfinal match in the 2025 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament on Thursday. The team beat No. 7 seed SCAD Savannah 5-0.

Wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches gave the Bulldogs the doubles point. Octavio Volpi and Juan Carlos Garcia won the No. 2 6-2 while Zoilo Rios and David Leon won the No. 3 doubles match 6-1.  

Two of the singles matches finished at the same time to give Tennessee Wesleyan an extra point in the win. Volpi won the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-2, and Garcia won the No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-2. Leon picked up a win in the No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-3 to go along with a 6-3, 6-4 win by Asier Pascual in the No. 5 singles match. 

The Bulldogs (16-2) advance to the semifinals of the NAIA Tournament for the fifth consecutive year with the win. The team will face No. 3 seed Keiser University on Friday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
