Leon Named NAIA Men's Tennis Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- On Monday, David Leon was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week. On Tuesday, Leon earned the national honor as he was named the NAIA Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The winner of the national weekly award is chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group and independent institution nominees.

Leon was given the award based on his play against then-No. 19 Union Commonwealth University. In Tennessee Wesleyan's 7-0 win against the ranked opponent, the senior won both of the matches he was involved in. The Alicante, Spain native was part of a 6-0 win in the No. 3 doubles and won the No. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-4. Leon holds an 11-3 record in singles and an 8-4 record in doubles. 

This is the first national honor for Leon.
