No. 2 Men's Tennis Outscore No. 18 Cumberlands

ATHENS, Tenn.- The second-ranked men's tennis team was back in action on their home court on Thursday. The Bulldogs played a non-conference match against No. 18 University of the Cumberlands, winning the match as the first team to four points in a 4-0 win. 

Tennessee Wesleyan took the first lead of the game with the doubles point. Wins by Maceo Simpson and Chanon Phunsawat in the No. 2 doubles 6-2 and won the No. 2 doubles 7-5 while Zoilos Rios and David Leon in the No. 3 doubles match 6-1 gave the team the point.

The team clinched the match with singles wins in the No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6 spots. Octavio Volpi won the No. 1 match 6-0, 6-2, Leon won the No. 4 match 6-4, 6-2, and Rios took the No. 6 match 6-0, 6-1.

Tennessee Wesleyan (7-2) plays on their home court again against the University of Pikeville in a conference match on Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m.
