No. 2 Men's Tennis Defeats Emory on Senior Day

ATHENS, Tenn.- The men's tennis team played their final match of the regular season on Saturday. The team hosted NCAA Division III powerhouse Emory University for their Senior Day match.

After the doubles point, the Bulldogs led 1-0. Zoilo Rios and David Leon (No. 2 doubles) won their doubles match 6-4 while Gregorio Magnarelli and Agustin Gaia (No. 3 doubles) each won their matches 6-3 to give the team the doubles point.

The battle continued in the singles matches as the tough match saw the final score be 4-3. Octavio Volpi gave the team a point, winning the No. 1 singles 7-5, 7-6. Sabi Roi gave the team a third point with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 2 singles. Leon gave the team four points in the match by winning the No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-0, making TWU the winners in the match by one points. 

The win gives the team a final regular season record of 19-1. Up next for the team is the NAIA National Championship Tournament on May 14-18 in Mobile, Ala.
