Volpi Wins NAIA Weekly Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The NAIA released the weekly awards for the sport of men's tennis on Wednesday. Octavio Volpi was named the NAIA Men's Tennis Player of the Week by the national office. Volpi was selected based on his performances from April 8-14 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group and independent institution nominees
Volpi took home the award after he helped the Bulldogs win the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament Title. The Corrientes, Argentina native went 5-0 during the tournament run, including the championship-clinching point against No. 9 Reinhardt University. Volpi is a three-time AAC Player of the Week and was named the AAC Player of the Year by the conference coaches.
This is the first national weekly award for Volpi.
