No. 2 Men's Tennis Sting SCAD Atlanta
ATLANTA, Ga.- The men's tennis team played their regular season road finale on Friday. The team took on the Bees of SCAD Atlanta in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) match.
TWU fell behind early. SCAD won two of the three doubles matches to take the doubles point and put the Bulldogs in a 1-0 hole. Gregorio Magnarelli and Agustin Gaia won the No. 3 doubles match 6-4.
Tennessee Wesleyan earned the win in the singles matches, winning five of the six singles matches to get an overall win in the match 5-2. Octavio Volpi used cloned scores of 6-0 to win the No. 1 singles match while Sabi Roi won the No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-3. German Delcanto took the win in the No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-3 to go along with a 6-3, 6-2 win by Zoilo Rios in the No. 5 singles match. Jesus Fernandez won the No. 6 singles match 6-2, 6-1 to get the team to the 5-2 win.
The Bulldogs (14-1, 7-0 AAC) finish the regular season portion of conference play on Wednesday. The team will play for the AAC Regular Season Title against No. 9 Reinhardt University at 2:00 p.m.
