Volpi Takes Home AAC Weekly Award

WALESKA, Ga.- The weekly award for men's tennis was announced by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Monday. In the second edition of the award, Octavio Volpi was named the Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

In a 2-0 week for the Bulldogs, Volpi won all the matches he was involved in. Both wins came against NCAA Division II opponents, the University of North Georgia and Columbus State University. Playing in the No. 1 position in all his matches, Volpi started the week with a 7-6 [7-2] win in the doubles match while winning the singles match 6-3, 6-3 in the team's 6-1 win against North Georgia. In the second match of the week, the Corrientes, Argentina native helped the team defeat Columbus State 4-2. The junior used a score of 6-2 to win the No. 1 doubles match.

This is the first weekly award for Volpi. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, March 18.
