Ortiz Takes Home AAC Weekly Award

Waleska, Ga.- The weekly awards for men's tennis was announced by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Monday. Gabriel Ortiz was announced by the league office as the Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Ortiz took the award home after helping the Bulldogs defeat No. 18 University of the Cumberlands 7-0. After winning his No. 2 doubles match 6-2, the senior went on to win his singles match in three sets. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native fell in the first set 5-7 but won the remaining sets 6-0 and 6-4 to win the No. 1 singles spot.

This is the first weekly award for Ortiz this season. The next edition of the awards will be announced on Monday, March 27.
