Men's Golf Finishes Second at Battle at the Bay
HARRISON, Tenn.- The men's golf team were back out on the links on Monday and Tuesday. The team played at the Battle for the Bay, a two-round tournament at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay.
Every player on the team shot in the 70s in both rounds of the tournament, including three players shooting 73 (one over par) in the first round. Jacob Parton led the team with a 73 and 72 for a two-round total of 145 to finish seventh overall. Two rounds of 73 gave Bradley Dunkle ninth place with a total score of 146 while JT McKenzie totaled 149 strokes with scores of 73 and 76 to finish in 16th. A total score of 151 after two rounds of 74 and 77 helped Joe Britton finish in 20th place. Josh Loveday finished in 23rd after shooting two rounds of 76 for a total of 152.
TWU finished second overall, recording second-place finishes in the first round with a team score of 293 and in the second round with a score of 297 for a team total of 590.
The team will compete for a conference championship and an automatic postseason birth at the AAC Direct Qualifier on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament takes place at Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville, Ga.
