Men's Golf Begins Spring Season at Skyhawk Invitational

Newnan, Ga.- The men's golf team played their first tournament of the spring season on Monday and Tuesday. The team played in the Spring Skyhawk Invitational. The tournament consisted of three rounds over the two days, played on a Par 72 course.

Monday:

After the first two rounds on the 7,033-yard course, Bradley Dunkle led the team with a score of 155 after shooting 76 and 79 to be in a tie for 20th place. Also tied for 20th was Dodj Watson, shooting 79 and 76 to total 155 in two rounds.

Josh Loveday (77 and 80) and Joe Britton (82 and 75) finished the two rounds in a tie for 28th with a score of 157. Jacob Parton rounded out the Bulldogs on the board, using scores of 82 and 80 to finish with a 162, tying him in 46th place.

As a team, TWU shot 314 and 310 in the first two rounds to have a team score of 624, placing them in seventh place.

Tuesday:

With the completion of the third round, Dunkle's score of 77 gave him a total of 232 for the tournament, placing him in a tie for 24th place. Loveday maintained his 28th spot on the leaderboard after shooting 77 to total 233 through three rounds. Britton shot a 78 in the third round, making his three-round total 235 to place him in a tie for 30th place.

Watson finished the third round with a score of 81, making his three-round total 236, tying him in 35th place. Parton moved up the scoreboard, shooting a 77 to finish tied for 39th with a 239 total.

On the team scoreboard, the Bulldogs shot a team score of 309 to finish the tournament with a score of 921, finishing in seventh place.

Up next for Tennessee Wesleyan is the Spring Arbor Tournament at Keene Trace Country Club in Nicholasville, Ky. The tournament is set to be played March 27-28.
