Bernard Joins 1,000 Career Point Club

Athens, Tenn.- For the second time this season, the men's basketball program had a student-athlete join the 1,000-point club. Bryant Bernard became the newest member of the club on December 4, 2021, in the team's home game against Columbia International University.

Bernard entered the 2021-2022 season with 854 points after two seasons with the Bulldogs. An accumulation of points through the early part of the season left the Birmingham, Ala., native one point shy of his 1,000th career point to begin the game against CIU. The guard eclipsed the point total with the first basket of the game, a layup just seven seconds into the game.

Bernard is the 39th player in program history to score 1,000 career points, joining teammate Ty Patterson who secured the career points total earlier this season. This is the first time the Bulldogs have had two student-athletes score their 1,000th career point in the same season since 2013.

As of this writing, Bernard currently had 1,017 career points, making him 35th on the all-time scoring list.
