Fernandez Wins AAC Weekly Award

WALESKA, Ga.- For the fourth time this season, a player from the baseball team earned an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) award. This time, it was Allan Gil Fernandez taking home the AAC Baseball Player of the Week award. 

Fernandez helped the Bulldogs go 3-1 this past week, batting .400 over the four games. Fernandez hit four home runs, one against Georgia Gwinnett and three against Montreat College. The final game of the series against Montreat saw the junior hit two home runs. Those hits along with two singles and three walks helped the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native finish with seven RBIs and eight runs scored. Fernandez finished the week with a 1.200 slugging percentage.

This is the first weekly award for Fernandez. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, March 16.
