Baseball Finishes Regular Season Ranked No. 3 in Final NAIA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- During the excitement of the conference run, the final edition of the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll was announced by the national office. Tennessee Wesleyan continued its upward trend in the poll, moving up to No. 3.

The Bulldogs saw their voting points jump up to 484 to garner their No. 3 spot.

TWU entered the final poll holding a 38-11 overall record and a 23-7 conference record. The team is 16-6 (including two wins in the conference tournament) against teams in or receiving votes in the poll, including four teams ranked in the top ten. The wins are against the University of the Cumberlands, Reinhardt University, Hope International University, Arizona Christian University, Indiana University Southeast, Johnson University, and Cumberland University.

The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place, and so on through the list.

This is the 44th consecutive poll the team has been ranked in. A postseason poll will be released on Wednesday, June 4.
