No. 1 Baseball Falls to No. 7 LCSC

LAKELAND, Fla.- The ending of the East/West Challenge did not end on the note the No. 1 baseball team had hoped, as they fell to the No. 7 Lewis and Clark State College Warriors 10-3. The team finished their time at the challenge on Saturday.

Devin Dixon gave the Bulldogs the first lead of the game in the third inning. Jack Stevens who got on base with a single and got to second on Josh Shelly's walk, scored on Dixon's single to give the team a 1-0 lead. Lewis-Clark took over the lead in the bottom of the third inning.

In the fifth inning, facing a 3-1 deficit, TWU tied the game. Cody McGill, who got on with a walk, stood on third after Stevens' double, was brought home along with Stevens on Shelly's double to left field, tying the game 3-3 after the end of the top of the fifth. The team was not able to score again though as the opponents went on to score seven more runs over the remainder of the game.

Up next for the Bulldogs (3-1) is their home opener against No. 17 Indiana University Southeast on Friday. The first game of a doubleheader is set for 12:00 p.m.
